EUNIC is the network of the international cultural relations institutes from the member states of the European Union. Formed in 2006, it has 32 members from 26 countries.
EUNIC’s members work in over 150 countries with over 2,000 branches. They work in the arts, languages, youth, education, science, intercultural dialogue and development sectors.
In the UK, EUNIC has two clusters, one in London and one in Edinburgh. The London cluster was established in September 2007 and has at present 29 members and associate members who share knowledge and resources on a common European agenda. With the aim of further enhancing the awareness for European cultural diversity and creativity in the UK, EUNIC develops annual as well as one-off projects. The Flemish Representation is an associate member of the EUNIC London cluster and attends the monthly meetings.
In the past, the Flemish Representation has participated in joint events like the European Literature Night (Flanders was represented by Peter Terrin in 2011 and by Erwin Mortier in 2013), the European Documentary Festival and DancEUnion, and organised the European May Fayre in Regent's Park in 2011.
