Grants for translations and visits by authors, illustrators and translators
Flanders Literature creates awareness on Flemish literature abroad. One of its activities is to award grants to publishers and authors.
The FLF supports foreign publishers with translation and production grants in order to publish titles written by Flemish authors. Special conditions apply for drama, poetry and illustrated books (picture books and graphic novels).
The FLF may also pay for travel costs incurred by authors travelling abroad to promote their translated works.
The above mentioned subsidy is granted in accordance with the Commission Regulation (EC) No 1998/2006 of 15 December 2006 on the application of Articles 87 and 88 of the Treaty to de minimis aid (OJ L 379 of 28 December 2006).
Publishers who receive translation or production grants will therefore be required to sign a declaration letter confirming that the total amount of de minimis aid granted to them over a period of three financial years does not exceed 200,000 euro.
