Privacy and Ethics in data science

This session was organized in collaboration with the Knowledge Center Data & Society(opens in new window).

During this workshop, the speakers introduce the basic principles and concepts of the GDPR in an interactive way. They will then consider some points for attention in the context of AI applications. Questions that will be discussed include: when is data ‘personal’? When should a DPIA be performed? Why do some organizations have a DPO and when should you contact your DPO? Are there exceptions for statistical research? They will also briefly discuss the Ethical Guidelines for Trustworthy AI and the seven key requirements. The development, deployment and use of AI systems must meet these requirements to be considered “reliable AI”, with privacy and data governance being one of these requirements. To prepare for the workshop, please refer to the privacy guidelines/policies that apply in your organization.
