The impact of sound on the welfare of animals used for experiments
This study brings together the available scientific knowledge on the impact of noise on the welfare of laboratory animals in animal research facilities. Based on a literature review and input from stakeholders, it formulates scientifically grounded recommendations for noise management, monitoring and practical measures. The recommendations are primarily based on research into the impact of noise on rats, mice, pigs, chickens and zebrafish in research facilities.
