DetailsSince last year, INBO has been strongly committed to the development and optimization of protocols to optimally monitor invasive crayfish such as marbled crayfish and red swamp crayfish.
A request came from the Netherlands to use eDNA in order to map the presence of invasive crayfish in the Hatertse Vennen near Nijmegen. This involved 40 pools.
In addition, we were asked to investigate whether some native valuable amphibian species such as Pelobates fuscus,Northern crested newt and moor frog were also present in these pools.
