High-Level EU Cycling Conference – Taking the European Declaration on Cycling to the next level
Within the context of the Belgian Presidency of the Council 2024 the Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters and the Flemish Department of Mobility and Public Works kindly invite you to attend the High-Level EU Cycling Conference – Taking the European Declaration on Cycling to the next level on 29 – 30 January in Hasselt, Belgium.
There is a real political momentum in the EU for cycling with the recent adoption of the European Declaration on Cycling. This conference will bring together political leaders, policymakers and experts to exchange views and discuss the next steps to elevate cycling to a fully-fledged transport mode at European level.

We will cycle through the various aspects of the Declaration with inspiring high-level panel debates on cycling policies, road safety and cycling infrastructure and investments, as well as in-depth break-out sessions. Furthermore, there will be the possibility to visit some of the Flemish cycling realisations in the area.
In parallel, European Ministers of Transport, and representatives of the European Parliament and the Commission will exchange views in a closed session on EU cycling policy and the next steps.
