The document represents a progress report of the first year of the 15_009 project on Optimized hybrid model for coastal safety assessment. This report describes briefly the achieved results. Main aim of the first year was the implementation of an efficient, simple and accurate wave generation and wave absorption technique in DualSPHysics code as stand-alone model which was succeeded. The DualSPHysics model is now able to generate both long-crested monochromatic and random waves with a piston-type wavemaker. The active wave absorption system (AWAS) has been proved to be effective for monochromatic and random waves.
