Psychiatric care homes

Psychiatric care homes offer residential care to adults and elderly people with severe, prolonged psychiatric problems.

These are people who:

  • for psychiatric reasons require support in their daily activities, but who do not need permanent medical care

  • do not need permanent physical care

  • require support to promote their inclusion and participation in society

  • are not, or not yet, capable of living independently. They need someone they can call on at short notice when that proves necessary.

A psychiatric care home offers these people ‘residential recovery care’.
