Accreditation and subsidisation of centres for mental healthcare

A centre for mental healthcare (Dutch: centrum voor geestelijke gezondheidszorg/CGG) offers medical-psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care to people with severe mental problems. You must be accredited in order to be allowed to operate a centre for mental healthcare.

Procedure

Applying for accreditation

In order to obtain accreditation as a CGG, there must be room in the programming. The programming specifies how many care settings of each type will be needed per municipality.

When applying for accreditation you need to meet and continue to meet a number of accreditation standards(opens in new window). Accreditation is valid for a maximum of 6 years and may be renewed.

Renewing accreditation

Is your accreditation as a CGG about to expire? The Department of Care (Dutch: Departement Zorg) can renew your accreditation. In doing so, it will check whether you still comply with the accreditation standards. Always report any organisational changes that may affect the accreditation requirements.

Receiving a subsidy

An accredited centre for mental healthcare (CGG) receives an annual subsidy. The subsidy envelope is defined in an agreement between the Department of Care and the CGG. The agreement is valid for 3 years.
