Do you have a foreign diploma?

Do you want to study or continue your studies in Flanders or Brussels?

Most of the time, you do not need to have your foreign diploma officially recognised to study in Flanders. However, in some cases recognition may be required - for example, if you wish to pursue vocational training at a CVO.

  • Stap 1

    Contact the educational institution

It is up to the educational institution itself to determine the relevance of your foreign diploma. They will decide whether your diploma admits you to a particular course or not (or if it only admits you if other conditions are met). They do not recognise diplomas or issue certificates. They only decide whether you can start or not.

  • Stap 2

Do you still need to have your diploma recognised?

Has the educational institution requested recognition of equivalence of your diploma?
Then you can apply to NARIC-Vlaanderen.
To study at a CVO, you can submit an application for your secondary school diploma at NARIC-Vlaanderen.
