This accessibility statement applies to the Flemish public administration’s website “Your future in Flanders”, a sub-site of vlaanderen.be.

The Flemish public administration is committed to making its websites and applications accessible in accordance with the bestuursdecreet van 7 december 2018 (in Dutch) which transposed the Europese Richtlijn 2016/2102 (in Dutch) is omgezet.

This accessibility statement was drawn up on september 22, 2020 based on the outcome of a manual test by an IAAP certified web accessibility specialist. The content was then manually tested by the editorial team of the Department Werk, Economie, Wetenschap, Innovatie & Sociale Economie.

Technical problems

• Not all videos have subtitles and audio description. The video player does not provide the option to adjust or disable subtitling, and the hotkeys can be activated inadvertently through voice commands.
• Form fields do not always have autocomplete attributes that allow the form to be filled in automatically via the browser.
• Tooltips are not usable when magnified.
• Error messages do not always contain a suggestion to fix the error.
• The name, role, value and status of some components are not read aloud correctly by screen readers.
• Status messages in the chat are not read aloud by screen readers.

Editorial issues

• The purpose of links cannot always be deduced from the link text in combination with the context.
• Some lists or tables are not formatted correctly.
• Some images, such as infographics, lack sufficient contrast.
• Vlaanderen.be publishes documents, such as PDF files and Office files, of all the Flemish public administration services. Those documents do not always meet the accessibility requirements. Anyone who experiences problems can contact the service in question for an accessible alternative.
• On some pages, the order of heading levels is not logical.
• The map, such as the OpenStreetMap, does not meet accessibility requirements.
