Free bus and tram season ticket for persons with disabilities
As a person with a disability, you will receive a MOBIB card with a free annual season ticket for persons with disabilities (Dutch: personen met een handicap/PMH). The PMH season ticket is only valid on De Lijn vehicles (and not on the MIVB or TEC vehicles in Brussels and Wallonia).
Conditions
To obtain a free annual season ticket for persons with disabilities, you must live in the Flemish Region and meet 1 of the following 4 conditions:
- You are registered with the Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities (in Dutch)(opens in new window) (Dutch: Vlaams Agentschap voor Personen met een Handicap).
- You receive an allowance from the Federal Public Service Social Security, Directorate General for Persons with Disabilities.
- You receive a care budget for elderly people with care needs from your care fund.
- You are entitled to special employment support measures via the Flemish Service for Employment and Vocational Training (Dutch: Vlaamse Dienst voor Arbeidsbemiddeling en Beroepsopleiding/VDAB).
Procedure
If you do not have a MOBIB card yet
You will automatically receive a letter inviting you to apply for your MOBIB card with free PMH season ticket. After you have paid the administration fee of 5 euros, you will receive your MOBIB card by post.
If you already have a MOBIB card from De Lijn
You will receive a letter stating the date on which your free PMH season ticket on your MOBIB card will be active. The season ticket will automatically be loaded onto your card the first time you register it on a bus or tram.
If you already have a MOBIB card from NMBS, TEC or MIVB
You can have your free PMH season ticket loaded onto your MOBIB card in one of the De Lijn shops.
PMH season ticket renewal
Your PMH season ticket is renewed free of charge every year as long as you are recognised as a person with a disability.
Expired MOBIB card replacement
Your MOBIB card is strictly personal and valid for 5 years, only on De Lijn buses and trams. When it expires after those 5 years, you will receive an invitation to buy a new one.
Cost
The PMH annual season ticket for persons with disabilities is free of charge.
You do not have a MOBIB card yet? Then you will have to pay an administration fee of 5 euros to make the card. You pay this fee by means of the payment transfer form that you receive by letter or e-mail.
Exceptions
Children who are recognised by the Federal Public Service Public Health as persons with disabilities and receive increased child benefit are not entitled to a free annual season ticket.
