For the implementation of VISD, we focus on nine strategic domains where Flanders already has a strong civil and dual-use foundation. For each strategic domain, orientation roadmaps have been drawn up, outlining Flanders’ strengths, opportunities, and specific defence needs.

The roadmaps act as a compass. They bring together various players, support the development of ambitious innovation projects, and clarify where Flanders can make a difference. Orientation roadmaps form the basis for project development, investment decisions, and the positioning of Flemish players within federal, European, and NATO programmes.
