Pursuing a regulated profession with a foreign qualification

Within the European Higher Education Area, for regulated professions, authorities other than NARIC-Vlaanderen are competent to recognise your qualification.

Within the EEA or Switzerland

Did you obtain this diploma within the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, which gives you access to a regulated profession in your home country? Then, if you meet the conditions below, you can apply for professional recognition directly to the competent authority for this purpose.

  • You obtained your degree within the EEA or Switzerland
  • You have the nationality of a country within the EEA or Switzerland
  • Your degree gives access to a regulated profession in your country of origin
  • The profession is a regulated profession in Belgium.

Outside the EEA or Switzerland

If you do not meet the above conditions, you must apply to NARIC-Vlaanderen for equivalence recognition.
