You have two options to secure an internship for the Flanders Trainee Programme:

  • via the internship vacancies on this page.

  • via a spontaneous application to the multilateral organisations on the list below.

Vacancies

At present, it is not possible to apply for a grant, as no budget remains for 2026. From late 2026 onwards, new vacancies will be published here.

Multilateral organisations

Below is the full list of multilateral organisations that qualify for the Flanders Trainee Programme. You can spontaneously apply to these organisations to get an internship or respond to an internship vacancy on their website.

Internships can only take place at the headquarters or at a field office of these organisations in the areas of jurisdiction of the Diplomatic Representations of Flanders(opens in new window).

Internships for which you cannot get a grant

Remote internships

A remote internship is not allowed. You must complete the entire period of your internship at the post described in the letter of confirmation from your internship supervisor.

Internships for a political group, embassy, or permanent representation office

You cannot get a grant for internships for a political group, embassy, or permanent representation of a country.
