Validation programme for professional qualification as an HR assistant
What the profession involves
The HR assistant informs staff, monitors and manages the administration of personnel files. He/she supports and implements efficient personnel management, taking into account the applicable regulations and the organisation’s HR policy.
The HR assistant:
- organises and supports the process of recruitment and selection;
- creates individual employee files, monitors them and updates them taking into account current legislation;
- translates training needs into training initiatives;
- updates and develops documents to evaluate and adjust HR policies;
- informs staff about social legislation and specific features of the organisation, and takes care of the practical organisation of social elections;
- follows up on the handling of disciplinary actions and relations with the legal authorities;
- welcomes new employees and helps them integrate;
- correctly enters wage information;
- manages the entire workforce;
- always works solution-oriented, target group-oriented and loyal to the organisation.

If you want to demonstrate your experience as an HR assistant at a validation body, you will do so by means of a practical test, a role play, an interview and a case study.
The language of instruction for the tests is Dutch.
You will be tested on whether you
- can organise and support the process of at least one recruitment and selection;
- can welcome at least one new employee and promote their integration;
- create and follow up on individual files for at least two employees, including one file for an English-speaking member of staff;
- make updates to the personnel files of at least three employees, including one file for a French-speaking member of staff;
- administratively manage and follow up on the personnel files of at least two temporary employees;
- inform at least one new staff member and one current staff member about social legislation and specific characteristics of the organisation;
- check and enter the salary details of at least two employees;
- update and develop at least one document to evaluate and adjust HR policy;
- translate training needs and requirements into training initiatives for at least one employee and at least one group of employees;
- follow up on at least one contract for the outsourcing of services (payment, recruitment, training, etc.);
- can follow up on disciplinary measures and relations with legal authorities (labour inspectorate, labour court, etc.) for at least one member of staff;
- can take care of the practical organisation of a social election;
- can look up vocational information within the field of HR.
