Tackle Climate Change Risks: Apply to IRISCC’s Third Open Call

The EU-funded IRISCC project offers researchers, innovators, and policymakers access to Europe’s top research infrastructures to address climate change risks. The Third Open Call runs from 26 Feb – 26 Apr 2026.

With IRISCC access, you can:

  • Conduct hands-on experiments and use advanced observational platforms
  • Leverage data, modeling, and virtual research tools
  • Collaborate across multiple European research infrastructures
  • Work interdisciplinarily across natural sciences, social sciences, human health, and more

Travel & Subsistence support is limited, so plan early. Training and guidance materials are available to help design high-impact projects.

INBO offers services from the following facility:

  • Measuring tower Brasschaat (De Inslag) – The LTER-site of Brasschaat is a 2 ha scientific zone situated in a mixed coniferous/deciduous forest in the Campine plain of Flanders. The site is equipped with a measuring tower and an intensive forest monitoring plot (ICP Forests level II). The site is also part of an ICOS monitoring site which is operated by the University of Antwerp.  Our research is strongly focused on the compounded effects of air pollution (ozone, excessive nitrogen deposition, phosphorus deficiency, delayed recovery of soil solution chemistry from acidification) and climate change (drought stress) on forest condition and gross primary production.
