By 2030 (compared to 2005), the Agency for Facility Operations aims to achieve the following targets for its major office buildings:
The Agency has formalized its environmental objectives in an Environmental and Energy Policy Statement. This policy addresses all key environmental themes. We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact, energy use, and both our carbon and material footprint.
We commit to 6 concrete engagements:
Developing a sustainable real estate strategy
To move toward energy-efficient infrastructure and climate neutrality. We support public entities by centralizing the management of office buildings and service vehicles.
Transitioning to a carbon-neutral building portfolio
We aim to reduce energy consumption, improve energy performance, maximize the use of renewable energy, and actively participate in energy communities.
Promoting sustainable mobility
The Agency leads the Mobility Action Plan for the entire Flemish government and ensures that at least the climate targets from the plan are met.
Optimizing material flows
Our waste policy is shifting to a resource policy. We are building a circular service model and implementing circular projects in procurement, real estate, construction, and facility management.
Reducing water consumption
Improving our environmental impact
We pursue innovative public procurement and choose solutions with the lowest environmental impact across the entire life cycle. We also pay attention to local biodiversity.
