Three teams – Information (documents, metadata), Data (databases, applications, incl. GIS) and IT Operations (ICT infrastructures) – together form the Information and Data Centre (IDC) on biodiversity and its applications for nature conservation in Flanders. The IDC ensures professional, high-quality acquisition and storage of data, information and knowledge supplied by an active network of external and INBO researchers, and the accessibility of such data, information and knowledge to the institution itself, policymakers, partner organisations and other players. The Information and Data Centre also ensures an effective, secure and integrated ICT infrastructure within INBO. The ultimate goal is a portal on biodiversity in Flanders.
