Recommendation in the spotlight: how to tackle water primrose?
Water primrose is an invasive exotic species that has been increasing rapidly in recent years. It is already abundant in the IJzer Valley and the Durme Valley (Molsbroek).
Water primrose threatens existing grassland and marsh biotopes.
Control options depend on the water level in the area. The Flemish Environment Agency therefore asked the INBO how best to control the species.
This advice helps to develop a strategy to prevent the negative impact of the species and, in particular, its further spread.
