Vespa-Watch launches new management module

Vespa-Watch, the platform that collects reports of Asian hornets and their nests, has launched a new module. This module brings together all available information in one central location.

An interactive map provides an overview of validated reports of Asian hornet nests in Flanders. You can filter these reports by province, municipality, observation date and management status. For each nest, you can view the information (photos and characteristics) that was provided when reporting a nest, including information about the control measures taken. The latter can be supplemented by professional eradicators with a user account.

The platform distinguishes between two types of users. Public users can consult the number of reported nests, view nest information and follow up on whether or not a nest has been controlled without an account. Registered users such as professional eradicators, fire brigade or municipal employees can log in. They can reserve nests for management, mark them as managed and report the use of biocides.

To facilitate the use of the updated module, clear manuals are provided for both public and registered users.
