On 01/09, on the eve of the new apple and pear season, the boards of directors of BelOrta and Veiling Haspengouw decided to officiate a cooperation agreement. BelOrta will take control of the commercialisation of the products from Veiling Haspengouw as soon as possible.
With this collaboration, we are reducing the price of bringing fruit to the market, we are making the product more easily accessible for trade. Furthermore, we think we can realise a better position for the cultivators of fruit of both cooperatives.
Fruit cultivation is badly affected by the import ban in Russia. In addition, the severe weather conditions rendered part of the excellent fruit of our cultivators unsuitable for selling. With this declaration of intent, both cooperatives take their responsibilities and hope to arm their members even better for the coming season.
The intention to collaborate will soon be submitted for approval to the agencies involved.
