abstract = "This report describes the monitoring networks for bats. The aim of this monitoring is to estimate population trends across Flanders. The protocols described are designed to ensure maximum comparability between years, locations and observers, thereby enabling robust trend analyses.
We describe five monitoring schemes, namely (1) winter counts, (2) colony counts via birds leaving the roost, (3) colony counts via loft surveys, (4) colony counts via loft visits, and (5) mist net captures and telemetry.
