Alexander Van Braeckel

Estuarine and river ecologist with a background in systems ecology, geomorphology, nature restoration, and conservation. Experienced in monitoring and researching terrestrial and (semi-)aquatic ecosystems, focusing on Flemish estuaries (including the Scheldt Estuary, IJzermonding, and the Zwin area) and large rivers like the Common Meuse. Serves as an expert advisor to various working groups of the Flemish-Dutch Scheldt Commission (VNSC) and the Flemish-Dutch Bilateral Meuse Commission (VNBM), and actively participates in international initiatives such as Interreg projects.
