Frank Huysentruyt is a researcher at the Wildlife Management and Invasive Species group, where he is involved in research on damage management of bird and mammal species in Flanders.

His research topics include damage to agriculture, forestry, fish farming or waterways as well as ecological damage. Within this framework, both the effectiveness of measures and the options and techniques for population regulation are evaluated. In many cases this evaluation is based on population ecology research and the development of population models for the analysis of management scenarios. Based on this expertise, Frank is also involved in projects related to the evaluation of hunting policy and the management of invasive exotic species in Flanders.
