Details
Monitoring the annual migration of seaward-migrating silver eels from the Blankenberge Canal in the autumn of 2025. This monitoring is taking place as part of work to replace the gravity-fed drainage structure in the port of Blankenberge, which involves the use of temporary pumps that are harmful to fish to drain the canal. In addition to assessing the biomass of silver eels, the project contributes to the protection of the eel, as they are actively transported to the sea over the harmful pumps.| Status | Running |
