Digitisation of BWK habitat keys

(Jan Van Uytvanck)
Details
Field keys are available for identifying vegetation according to the BWK or habitat typology. We want to simplify their use by translating the decision rules contained in these keys into an automatable code. This will mean that a record of vegetation, possibly supplemented with clearly observable site characteristics, will suffice to identify the BWK or habitat type. The code will also allow historical records (stored in the Inboveg database, for example) to be classified. We want this translation to be transparent, so that any subsequent changes (to the decision rules or species lists used) are clearly documented.Status | Running |
