LIFE COCON - dune heath restoration
Details
We are conducting research into the genetic diversity of heather along the coast and in neighbouring populations, with a view to introducing or supplementing the species in denitrified coastal dune areas.Specifically, this involves:
- genetic analysis of Calluna populations along the coast and in the surrounding area (up to 10 populations, including in northern France and Zeeland)
- propagation of Calluna plants from cuttings, litter or soil samples
- selection of sites for planting (restoration of habitat type)
- planting is carried out by ANB
- monitoring of the introduction
