Research on the dormouse – evaluation of translocations on the Brussels ring road (EVINBO)

Details

The planned works on the Brussels Ring Road create tension between infrastructure development and species protection, particularly for the dormouse. Ten active dormouse clans have been identified in the area around the R0–E19 junction (Zaventem). The INBO offers an advisory process to find a balance between the legal obligations for species protection and the practical feasibility of the works. This process results in scientifically based and applicable advice on how to deal with dormice, both in general and specifically for the junction in question.
