This report describes the results of the partridge counts carried out in Flanders by the respective game management units (GMU’s) according to a standardised counting protocol in spring 2024. One of the requirements to open partridge hunting is the presence of at least 3 breeding pairs per 100 hectare open space. In this report we first describe the counting effort made by each of the GMU’s. Furthermore, an overview is given of the estimated population density in each of the GMU’s based on the partridge counts.
