Verfijning van het Functioneel Ecologisch Netwerk van natuurverbindingen in Oost-Vlaanderen. Casestudy Ecologische verbinding tussen Uilenbroek-Parkbos-Ophasseltbos en Moenebroek
This study examines how an ecological connection between Parkbos-Uilenbroek-Ophasseltbos and Moenebroek can be realised within the provincial nature policy, which focuses on nature connection areas and ecological infrastructure. This case study serves as a pilot to test the applicability of least-cost modelling (modelling the route of least resistance between two areas for a species; this is done on the basis of terrain characteristics and ecological information about those species), supplemented with concrete species data. Based on this, we are developing a step-by-step plan or method that will lead to a design for ecological connectivity between nature areas.
