B-Cubed training sessions in March 2026

Would you like to learn how to convert biodiversity observations into concrete and useful insights? Over the next two months, B-Cubed is organising a series of online training sessions, open to anyone interested in biodiversity – from researchers and policymakers to nature managers and data enthusiasts. Register and discover practical tools and methods that you can apply immediately!

What is B-Cubed?

B-Cubed is a European project that optimises data flows to collect, organise and use biodiversity data. It develops smart data blocks, known as “biodiversity cubes”, which bring together information about species, their environment and other relevant data.

By bundling data in a uniform way, B-Cubed helps to gain insights more quickly and easily that are useful for nature management, monitoring and policy decisions – for example, in the context of international biodiversity targets.

The training series consists of six international, live online sessions, each on Friday at 15:00 CET. Each session lasts 1.5 hours and consists of:

  • a clear explanation,
  • time for questions,
  • a practical part in which participants get to work with tools and workflows themselves.

All sessions are free of charge and additional information is available on the website.

Programme

13 March – Mapping biodiversity with dissmapr

An open-source R tool that helps to spatially visualise and analyse changes in biodiversity.

20 March – Creating colour-friendly maps

Tips and solutions for making maps accessible to people with colour blindness.

27 March – The b3verse: working with biodiversity cubes in R

Introduction to a suite of R packages for retrieving, processing and analysing biodiversity data.

With this training series, B-Cubed shows how you can convert data into practical knowledge that really helps nature and biodiversity.
