INBO will execute all tasks as foreseen in the BiodivERsA soil subpilot workplan: - Selection of 6 Flemish soil fauna plots in forests according to EURAC selection criteria (in forest types Mesophytic deciduous forest, Acidophilous oak and oakbirch forest en Beech Forest) - Execute ground vegetation and dendrometric surveys (incl. photo documentation) - Soil sampling for (physico-chemical and eDNA sampling) according to proposed SoilBON protocol - Pretreatment of samples (air-drying, crushing) and shipment of samples to the central labs (soil and molecular labs) - Fabrication and installation of pitfall traps - Collection of all organisms from traps (in spring and autumn) - Sorting of soil organisms according to required groups - Delivery of all meta-data and information on the 6 sites (soil data, historical landuse data, habitat desciptions, classifications, etc) INBO contributes to elaboration of all data by the consortium and the elaboration of the final reporting. It will translate relevant information for the Forest Agency (ANB) as part of the collaboration agreement and to other stakeholders.
