Within the framework of the current research programme of the Flemish Dutch Scheldt Commission (VNSC) - "Agenda for the Future" there are several policy issues with regard to finding out which variables are important for determining the carrying capacity of waders in the Western Scheldt. The objective is to use transmitter data to determine the habitat use of wintering oystercatchers in the Scheldt estuary.
