Negative impacts and population dynamics of barnacle geese in Flanders
Details
Various European projects in recent years have focused strongly on developing a management approach for different types of migratory geese. The barnacle goose has received only very limited coverage in these studies, because it is a legally protected species – unlike exotics such as the Egyptian goose and game species such as the Canada goose and the greylag goose. To achieve a management approach for the barnacle goose that reflects the requirements inherent in its protected status, there is currently a need for up-to-date, local knowledge about population dynamics and the impact of the species in Flanders. This project is designed to meet this need.Status | Uitgevoerd |
