Manipulating Prey Preference in Burbot for the Biological Control of Crayfish

(INBO)
Details
The project investigates the prey preference of the native burbot (Lota lota) and aims to modify it to increase predation on invasive crayfish. Such insight contributes to the efficiency assessment of a combined nature-based control measure for invasive crayfish, in which traps and fish predators are deployed to reduce population densities. Within an experimental setup, we will investigate which factors determine the burbot's prey preference and how these can be influenced.| Status | Running |
