Details
Three R scripts (R version 4.5.1) are included. Using these scripts, all analyses and results presented in the manuscript “Avian influenza amplified age-related mortality in a long-lived seabird” can be reproduced.1_CJSmodelling_ST.R
This script creates the life-history data for Cormack–Jolly–Seber (CJS) modelling, runs the CJS models, performs model selection, generates the graphs (Figs. 1d and 1g), and conducts goodness-of-fit tests using the R2Ucare package.2_plot+model_AgeRelatedMortality_ST.R
This script first performs basic calculations on the numbers of birds ringed, recovered, and presumed alive. Next, it runs the GLMMs and generates Figure 2 of the manuscript. It also produces the remaining graphs (Figs. 1c, 1e, 1f, and 1g) and the maps showing the distribution of recovered dead ringed birds (Figs. 1a and 1b).3_plot+model_ArrivalDate_ST.R
This script generates the ridgeline plots depicting median arrival dates of colour-ringed Sandwich Terns in the Northern Netherlands (Extended Data Fig. 1). It also performs the analyses of arrival date as a function of age and mortality date as a function of location.
